It seems I’ve been bitten by the travel bug. And quite hard at that. In gathering up the items for this month’s mood board, it became abundantly clear that I’ve got travel on the mind as each and every item evokes travel and the whimsy of adventure.
Very Fond of Food is the latest cookbook from model turned food personality, Sophie Dahl. Of course, I already had a soft spot in my heart for her since she’s the grandfather of my all-time favorite children’s book author, Roald Dahl, but she shines in her own right. The book is like a journey through modern-day British eating with a good dash of romance and a lot of quality writing to entice your palette.
Fortaleza Anejo Tequila has me longing for a trip to Mexico. Preferably one where I’d get to visit Fortaleza in person and see first-hand what it is that makes their hand-crafted, traditional tequilas so exceptional. Though all of their tequilas are expertly crafted, the anejo won me over for being subtle and rich without being heavy and overwhelming like other aged tequilas.
State Bird Provisions has me counting the days until I next head north to San Francisco so I can snag another plate of their crispy fried quail.
The Larder at Maple Drive has me planning lunch meetings in Beverly Hills so that I can nosh on one of their ficelle sandwiches and chocolate-covered honeycomb.
Stickygrams allow you to memorialize your Instagram photos as magnets so you can peep them whenever you pass the fridge.
Mikoh Swimwear has suits that I’ve been coveting since I got to Hawaii. My girlfriend was surfing in the stylish yet practical Laguna One Piece the other day and I’m unabashedly going to copy her and get one too.
Wayfare Magazine celebrates the art of adventure and the spirit of travel. I met the publisher, Erica Dublin, last month and she introduced me to the project and her work.
