What’s your trick-or-treating game plan?
We’re taking my niece and three nephews trick-or-treating in this cutest, coziest corner of the Hollywood Hills where each house is decorated up to Martha Stewart standards and everyone gives out candy (and I mean the good stuff). Yes, Los Angeles is a sprawling city and Hollywood is better known for clubs and premieres than block parties for the K-6 crowd, but this one little corner is like a slice of Main Street USA.

No, seriously, last night an Uber saved my life.
Okay, that statement makes me sound so 2013, right? I mean, I don’t think I even knew what Uber was this time last year and I certainly wasn’t paging them every two seconds for rides. But, in Los Angeles, where drunk driving is a really bad habit, a car-service-for-the-people like Uber is a godsend — especially when they save your life.
Yes, I’m one to exaggerate every now and then but, on this matter, I’m totally serious. My brother and his friends invited me and my man to join for his midweek birthday celebration and it quickly evolved from happy hour drinks to an (almost) all nighter. Right around midnight we were going (in an Uber) from our very late dinner to a club and headed east on Fountain.
(If you’re ever in the Hollywood area and have to go east-west, trust me that you should take Fountain. Ok, I realize that made me sound like the SNL skit The Californians but we really do talk about driving a lot around these parts!)
